Counseling Services
Sometimes participating in Counseling Services is required by Juvenile Court officials, as part of a Teen Court sentence or as part of a Restorative Justice Reparations Agreement. Reach For Youth maintains an active relationship with local juvenile courts and is a known resource for helping youth on probation or involved in Diversion Programming. Many times behaviors that lead to criminal involvement can be influenced or are exacerbated by untreated behavioral health issues.
Reach For Youth therapists understand the Juvenile Justice System and have extensive history of working with courts to help kids with criminal behavior issues. Individual, family and/or group treatment may be recommended for the youth depending on their behavioral health issues.
After attending a registration and a one- or two-hour evaluation with a therapist, the therapist, referred child and parent will discuss treatment recommendations. For many youth, individual, family or group therapy is the recommended to help them address the referring issue and/or acquire skills that can prevent them re-entering the Juvenile Justice system.
In cases where further treatment is recommended, follow up appointments will be scheduled. In some cases, no further treatment is recommended.
