Psycho-Sexual Evaluation Services
Reach for Youth provides specialized, comprehensive evaluation services appropriate for adolescents (12-18), who have been adjudicated delinquent of or are admitting to some type of sexual offense or sexually offensive behavior. Evaluations and treatments are provided by our therapists who have extensive training in working with sexually maladaptive youth.
Some reasons a youth might be appropriate for a psycho-sexual evaluation include, but are not limited to:
- Adjudicated delinquent or is known to have committed a sexual offense
- Overly-preoccupied with pornography
- Behaves sexually in front of others
- Overly-preoccupied with sexual topics, sexual talk or gestures
- Has been sexually inappropriate with other same-aged peers, with mentally handicapped persons, or animals
- Demonstrates poor sexual boundaries or impulses.
Psycho-sexual evaluations are a minimum of four hours and are provided at scheduled times at both our North and South Indianapolis locations. Evaluations include: a clinical interview, sexual offender-specific testing for the youth, two psychological tests, and a risk assessment.
All evaluations are staffed by our entire Adolescent Sexual Offender Clinical Treatment Team. Options for recommendations from the Psycho-Sexual Evaluation are: individual and family treatment to address the sexually maladaptive behavior, short-term outpatient group, long-term outpatient group, residential sexual offender treatment, or recommendation to the Indiana Department of Corrections.
To be eligible for a Psycho-Sexual Evaluation, the parent of the referred youth must be willing to sign a release of information allowing Reach for Youth to request documents about the offensive behavior from the probation office, law enforcement, Child Protective Services, Department of Child Services or school depending on the type of sexually maladaptive behavior.
