Success Stories:

There are so many great examples of how Reach for Youth staff have helped some challenged young people reach success. Here are a few. We will continue to be adding new stories and occasionally offering updates to past stories. Please return over time to review them.

Group Therapy

Reach for Youth provides group therapy services for children, adolescents, and their parents/guardians at our two locations. Our therapists are available to provide group counseling for children and teens 6-18 and their families.

Reach for Youth offers specialized group therapy in the following areas:

  • Cannabis Youth Treatment (Drug and Alcohol Treatment)
  • Drug and Alcohol Insight
  • Teen Anger Group
  • Young Anger Management (for both youth and parents/guardians)
  • Adolescent Sexual Adjustment Group (healthy sexuality education group for both youth and parents)

Upon completion of orientation and the evaluation appointment, therapist, child and parent will discuss the treatment goals.

For many youth, group therapy is the recommended mode of treatment. If specific group therapy is the treatment recommendation, the child or family will be scheduled to begin the next available group. Most groups are between four and six weeks in length. Some groups require both parents and youth to participate together, some provide separate groups for parents and youth and some are youth-only groups.

Group counseling is always provided in the evening at our North and South Indianapolis locations. Depending on the type of group, sessions are scheduled in one or two hour increments. Families may be asked to attend follow-up sessions post-group to determine if additional services are indicated.
