FutureTrack:
Truancy Assistance Program
Our FutureTrack Truancy Assistance Program offers students with school attendence issues an opportunity to remain in school and find the best way to address the issues that led to this behavior. In addition to offering counseling to parents and students on alternative school options and behavioral counseling. All students come to the program through Marion County Truancy Court referrals and are often facing a final option to expulsion.
More than 80% of the students referred to the FutureTrack program will complete the court's requirements, avoid future truancy issues including suspension or expulsion, and avoid new offenses with the juvenile justice system. Future Track helps increase school attendance by assisting youth with any mitigating issues affecting them or their family unit.
Some referrals may include but would not be limited to individual, family and/or group behavioral counseling, possibly including drug and alcohol treatment and anger management training. FutureTrack program staff remain in close contact with the Marion County Juvenile Probation to ensure that the youth and their families are able to receive the best possible outcomes.
Beyond increasing school attendance participants often increase academic performance and create or enhance long-term career and life goals.
